Got2Dance is a place where children of all ages, shapes and sizes learn to dance. We encourage students to show their personality, creativity and also self-expression to enable students to develop and become the best version of themselves.
Our goal is to create a positive and happy experience for all of our students. We strive to nurture and develop talent, celebrate the achievements of all students and inspire a love and appreciation of all styles of dance.
We have a very strong focus within the studio to create a safe environment where all students feel comfortable, supported and confident to express themselves.
We treat every student as an individual and know that all children learn in different ways and at different rates, so at Got2Dance we adapt our lessons to make sure every student gets the best development possible.
I started dancing at seven, at a local school here in Hawick, and spent eight years competing up and down the country. That is where I fell in love with it. When the school closed I was fourteen and already certain dance was what I wanted to do, so I began commuting to Edinburgh every week, training there until I was nineteen and specialising in Freestyle.
I went on to study the United Kingdom of Dance syllabus and joined the ADFP at twenty-one as a fully qualified teacher. I later trained in Acro as well, so I could bring something a little different to the studio alongside the dance.
Got2Dance began as a handful of small classes each week. It has grown into our own studio in the middle of Hawick, and into a school that competes at the highest level. Our dancers have brought home European Champion and British Champion titles.
My goal has never changed: a fun, safe environment where every child is encouraged to reach their potential. Why stay at the same level? Let us aim for the sky. Every achievement is celebrated, however big or small. We work hard, and we have a great deal of fun doing it.
